The Legend of the Veil is one of the newest Voyages added to Sea of Thieves in Season Six. This season continued with delivering more Athena’s Fortune and Pirate Legend content to players, including this brand-new Voyage. We will give a step-by-step walkthrough of each chapter of the new Legend of the Veil in Sea of Thieves. Read on to significantly hasten your Athena’s Fortune reputation grind.
Types of Missions in the First Two Chapters of a Legend of the Veil Voyage in Sea of Thieves
Beginning a Legend of the Veil Voyage will always be a somewhat randomized start. There are three chapters in this Voyage. The first two chapters are always random. Yet, the final battle remains the same. It’s also worth noting that since this Voyage is a part of Athena’s Fortune, it’s only available for purchase from Pirate Legends. The beginning chapters can include:
- Shipwreck Graveyards
- Hunted Islands
- Pictorial Maps
- Zoom Maps
- Lying Maps
Shipwreck Graveyards
Chapters featuring Shipwreck Graveyards require players to dive into a cluster of several shipwrecks to find one of the Veil Stones. Different parts of the ship can be interacted with. For instance, bookshelves and windows can be interacted with to sometimes reveal extra treasure. While searching through the ship for treasure, your main goal is to obtain the Grim Fortune’s Key. This key unlocks the Grim Fortunes Cabin containing the Veil Stone.
This chapter can be completed relatively quickly by reading the name of each ship in the graveyard. Unless you want every possible trinket hidden on every boat, prioritize looking for the Grim Fortune. The Grim Fortune will always be the ship containing the Veil stone. Once you obtain it, you will pass this chapter of the Legend of the Veil Voyage in Sea of Thieves.
Haunted Islands Chapters during the Legend of the Veil Voyage in Sea of Thieves
Hunted Islands will lead players to an island shrouded in green fog, like the fog that overtook Golden Sands. After you arrive, look for Belle, who then requests your help finding a Veil Stone. Belle will provide you with an Enchanted Lantern that will reveal Ancient statues that pulse like sonar when a player gets close.
After lighting all the statues around the island, a final Ancient statue will spawn Ancient Ghosts surrounding it. Upon lighting the last statue, players will start a fight with waves of Phantoms appearing until the Soulflame Captain spawns. After defeating the Soulflame Captain, the Ancient Priest awards you with the Veil Stone, along with any Athena’s Fortune treasure the Soulflame Captain dropped.
One way to complete this chapter faster during your Legend of the Veil Voyage is after obtaining the Enhanced Lantern, the statues will have beacons visible in the sky if they remain unlit. Also, during the final fight, the Ancients assist in fighting off the Phantoms. Keeping them alive, you help tip the scales in the number of allies attacking the Soulflame Captain when they arrive.
Pictorial Maps
One of the three map-oriented chapters, Pictorial Maps, includes several Sketches drawn by Sudds of an island containing the Veil Stone. One of the sketches is included with an icon that reveals the Veil Stone’s exact location. There is no other additional map provided in this chapter, and only the location drawings are available to you.
This chapter in the Legend of the Veil Voyage is themed around using your acquired knowledge as a Pirate Legend to know different landmarks or locations across the Sea of Thieves. Our main tip for this chapter is to use your past understanding of islands and landmarks or revisit them.
Zoom Maps
Like the Pictorial maps, Zoom Maps during the Legend of the Veil Voyage test your knowledge as a Pirate Legend once again. Yet these chapters do it on a more manageable scale. Zoom Maps are identical to the X-Marks-The-Spot treasure maps but only feature a zoomed-in portion of the island around where the Veil Stone is hidden.
We recommend studying the map piece and cross-referencing it with your map table before setting sail. If you have more pirates in your crew, you can have someone hold the map outward while you continue to check the map table.
Lying Maps
The last map-related chapter is Lying Maps. It is another map that hides a Veil Stone drawn by Sudds. Yet, it doesn’t include a marker indicating where it is buried. Rather than one marker, several symbols paired with numerous drawings by the Ancients on the island are marked on the map. However, one of the symbols on the map is incorrect, resulting in the Veil Stone’s location being located by the wrong symbol.
The fastest way to complete the Lying Maps is to have a process of elimination until you discover which symbol is wrong and recover the Veil Stone.
Final Chapter
The third and final chapter in the Legend of the Veil Voyage will always be the same. Players besiege three Ghost Garrisons defended by multiple Ghost Ships. A huge ghostly tornado protects the center of a Ghost Garrison. The center garrison becomes exposed once the three surrounding Ghost Garrisons are destroyed.
Each Ghost Garrison has several sections that must be destroyed using your ship’s cannons. The best way to eliminate these forts is to continuously circle them. You want to ensure they hit all the different areas to destroy their fortifications entirely. Repeat this three times, and you can enter the storm to defeat the final Ghost Garrison.
If you run out of cannonballs during the fight, the Ghost Ships defending the forts may drop supply crates. These crates can be harpooned aboard to replenish your supplies. You will need a lot of cannonballs to destroy the last Ghost Garrison, so come prepared.
When attacking the final settlement, you must destroy all the weak points around the Ghost Garrison. Once the fort is destroyed, the nearby Ghost ships will retreat. After that, the storm will quickly die, leaving the pile of Voyage’s treasure behind in the center of the Garrison.
Congratulations! You’ve completed your Legend of the Veil Voyage in Sea of Thieves and have earned your reward!
