Cntrmass#1949572306/02/24 | Joined: Apr 2017 Posts: 672 Likes: 2 captjohn Campfire Regular | Campfire Regular Joined: Apr 2017 Posts: 672 Likes: 2 | Raven dumped the kenai flight we use to fly to either Homer or kenai, for twenty years minus 2 we flew that flight for a July fishing trip, one of the two we didn't we were stuck on the highway 11.5 hours with a fatal accident ahead of us on the way to plane. Grant flys in now (Kenai) it appears at a rate i can fly from Texas to ANC for LOL, so now we roll the dice and drive, another thing the rental cars in the day were considerably cheaper at Homer and Kenai, not so much the case anymore. Just my two thoughts on the subject but drive and allow for "tourist" traffic jam with a bear wading in the river |

A few phone calls confirmed no one-way rental cars were available. U-Haul saved us. See quite a few "hunting rigs" vans up the Steese when caribou hunting also. It's an option, alright. The only true cost of having a dog is its death. |

Have used them myself on occasion. Last time was on Kodiak. Had reserved a truck, but it wasn't returned in time by previous renter.
